Club Champion Shoot 2006
Saturday-Sunday, September 23-24
- Fran McCullough, Sr. posted 187/200 and was victorious to reclaim the
Delaware County Sportsmens Association High-Overall Championship that he
had won in 2004. A former Club Handicap Champ Fred DiStefano snared Handicap
Club Champion with a 93. Rich Young, Jr. missed one for a 99 to claim the
16 yd. Club Champion and Joe Siedlarz also posted a 99 to take the Club
Runner-up trophy. Karen Fini netted the 16 yd. Club Lady Champion with a
85, and husband Bud Fini took Open "A" Class with a 97.
Veteran titlist Rudy Giarrocco claimed the Club Vet. Champion with a 96 and brother Fred Giarrocco took Open Vet. Champion with a 95.
Mike Guscott snared the Handicap Club Runner-up with a score of 91 and Jack Furia claimed the Handicap Club Vet. Champion also with a 91.
Former Pennsyvania State Champion Thomas Galligher, Jr. blasted 94 to capture the Doubles Club title.
The Delaware County Sportsmen’s Officers and Directors wish to thank Thomas Galligher, Jr. for the generous donations in the form of “added monies” for various events during this shoot in memory of his Father Thomas Galligher, Sr. who was a former Club Member and shooter.

Saturday, June 7th - Mike Guscott wins
"B" Class with a 99 in Colonial Classic 16 yd. event.
Thursday, June 12th
- PA Class Championship shoot - Rudy Giarrocco shoots 199/200 to tie for
Veteran Category.
Friday, June 13th - PA Hall of Fame Handicap - Lisa Baldwin scores 97/100
to tie for Lady Champion.
Saturday, June 14th - Norman Beaver wins PA. State Singles Championship
with 200/200 and an additional 250 target shootoff. Pa Singles Championship
- Lisa Baldwin scores 195/200 to win "D" Class Champion, Rudy Giarrocco
scores another 199/200 to tie for Veteran Category & 24/25 shoot-off winning
PA RU Veteran trophy. Joe Prestia scores 199/200, missing his first target
in the second hundred. Fran McCollough, Sr. scores 99/100 in his second
round.
Sunday, June 15th - PA State Handicap Championship - Joe Prestia scores
97/100 finishing 7th High Gun.
Delaware State Tournament
June 9, 2003, Three of
the Delaware State University shooters who practice at Delaware County Sportsmen's Assocation
on Saturdays with the Penn State University team won the junior and senior
student championships at the Delaware State Tournament.
Jack Aldridge was high gun on the senior team with a 199, Gary Hall was high gun on the junior
team with a 195, and "JB" Jim Wawrzniak, Jr. won 4th place in the handicap.
Penn State University Forms Trapshooting Team
May 18, 2003, The Delaware
County Sportsmen's Association is providing the club shooting facility
to students from the DELCO campus of Penn State University (PSU) for practice
and training of trapshooting fundamentals in plans to form a PSU Trapshooting
Team.
The team headed up by Jim Wawrzyniak will participate in the area state
shoots. |
